Winter is the season when vinegrowers' main job is pruning.
After several frosts, clement weather in March meant that we could get on with this painstaking work.
Each hectare of vines is planted with 8 000 to 10 000 individual vines, and the average size of a Gamme Beaujolaise wine estate is 12 hectares.
Each vinegrower needs to prune between 80 and 120 thousand vines between November and March.
This really big job demands courage and perseverance from each vinegrower.
